AcneAway is a New York-based startup that has been founded by two men who strive to bring the difference into the skincare space. When David, a businessman with a lot of ideas and dedication, partnered with a Joel – dermatologist that specializes in treating acne, they came to us with a bright and promising idea and asked the Interexy team to create a telemedicine solution for their business.
AcneAway is designed to help people from all across the world easily get needed treatment and treat acne during pandemic and further. The app represents a convenient and hassle-free way of connecting with a doctor online and checking the results of treatment right from the home – a great option since most healthcare organisations are closed due to COVID-19.
The app is also powered by an AI bot which helps patients book an appointment choosing the right date and time, while also working round the clock for a smooth and customized user experience.
We developed UI kit to simplify and integrate sophisticated approach. UI kit is our main design document, to everyone who work over the project refer to at each stage.
While an astonishing number of people worldwide struggle with acne and other skin care problems, AcneAway founders decided to help people with this common condition by developing a telemedicine app.
Since there are many myths and misunderstandings around these skin issues, most people struggle with booking an appointment and getting their treatment plan, as it is not a well-developed sphere. This was David and Joel’s pain point, so we quickly understood their problem and started the development of a digital solution that will show patients how it could change their life for the better.
Alongside shame around acne, there are numerous other problems that disturb patients from getting their individual treatment plan. First of all, based on their experience, David and Joel explained to our team that offline, it could take up to several months from the moment of booking an appointment with a dermatologist until the moment of admission.
Also, sometimes people should go to their clinic to the other end of the city, and the meeting lasts for 10 minutes, where the healthcare provider gives prescription medicine. After that challenging process, to track the process, patients have to book an appointment and wait for motions repeatedly.
Even though this is a common practice worldwide, David and Joel know that it could be an urgent problem for most people, and that is why they came to us.

Therefore, every page contains only main features that allow both newbies and experienced digital users to find what they were looking for. We decided to design this web service simple and easy-to-follow, ensuring user control, freedom, error prevention, flexibility, efficiency, straightforward navigation, and making sure all content is valuable.
In terms of UI, our team chose eye-pleasant and calm colors like red, blue, and light green. The interface is almost invisible to the user, as we avoid unnecessary elements and provide clarity in the language on labels and in messaging.
